Lights Out: The RMA Glow Spoon Series and the Band Puns Behind Them

By the RMA Crew

Ask any serious Great Lakes salmon angler and they'll tell you: glow spoons aren't a gimmick. In the deep, dark water where kings and lake trout spend most of their time, a spoon that glows is a spoon that gets seen. And a spoon that gets seen is a spoon that catches fish.

RMA makes glow spoons across the lineup. These four happen to also be some of our best band puns.

The Moldy Blues UV Glow is our Moody Blues tribute. The glow formula on this one was tuned for low-light and deep water — the conditions where kings are most aggressive and where a non-glow spoon starts to disappear. Early morning, late evening, overcast days — Moldy Blues keeps working when other spoons fade out.

Three Dogfish Night UV Glow and Old School Three Dogfish Night UV are our Three Dog Night tribute. Both are glow spoons built for king salmon and lake trout, with slightly different color profiles. Three Dogfish Night is the current formula; Old School is for anglers who prefer the original. Two versions, same result — fish in the boat.

Electric Eel Orchestra UV Glow is our ELO tribute. Big, bright, and built for deep water kings and lake trout where the glow does the heavy lifting. If you're jigging deep structure on Lake Michigan or Lake Superior, Electric Eel Orchestra belongs in your rotation.

Want to see the full glow spoon lineup? Every RMA spoon that carries a glow formula is built to the same standard — developed on the water, tested on Great Lakes kings and lake trout before it ever hits the store.
